A supper club is a term for an independent restaurant. Usually a small establishment in the Midwest that services a variety of foods. From fresh, lake caught seafood to pork chops, chicken, and steaks. High quality cooking by those in your neighborhood when you don’t want to cook at home. Often they serve a side salad with your dinner and choice of a fried side or baked potato. And drinks? Well in Wisconsin there is usually a Brandy Old Fashioned on the menu.
If I could eat and drink everyday at a Wisconsin supper club I would. But my wallet (and my location in Des Moines, Iowa) says I can’t. But I’m a good home cook. And at this stage in my life I can cook like a Supper Club. So come along with me on my cooking exploration as I make my favorite pastas, seafoods, and elevated home cooked meals.
